What is S.M.A.R.T.?

SMART, Inc. is a non-profit educational program that provides motorcycle rider education using curriculum developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and taught by MSF certified RiderCoaches. The program provides training for beginning riders in the Basic Rider Course(BRC), the 3Wheel Basic RiderCourse (3WBRC), and for experienced riders in the (BRC-2 course).

In addition to rider education, SMART, Inc. also emphasizes motorcycle awareness. We accomplish this task by providing literature and information to the public while participating in safety fairs and other community events and motorcycle events sponsored by various motorcycle groups. The program also seeks to increase the awareness of motorcycles by all vehicle operators by providing an orientation to motorcycling using a program developed by MSF called "Sharing the Road." "Sharing the Road" is a short program that may be presented to individuals enrolled in driver's education programs or to other community groups.

SMART, Inc. Mission

The Mission of Smart Motorcyclists Attend Rider Training, Inc. (SMART, Inc.) is to reduce the number of accident-involved motorcyclists in the state of Kansas. This is accomplished by providing quality rider education to motorcyclists in order to increase their mental and physical skills, and by increasing the awareness of motorcycles by the general public who share the streets and highways of our state.
